‘Tourist satisfaction, climate change and conservation in the Okavango Delta, Botswana’

Like any other water body and natural environment, the Okavango Delta is affected by the global climatic change and variability. Studies have pointed out that the Okavango Delta goes through a cycle of 30-40 years of dryness and another 30-40 years of wetness. At the moment, the Okavango Delta is at the beginning of the wet cycle. High flood patterns have the possibility of making the delta and most of it tourism infrastructure inaccessible, having a serious effect on tourism satisfaction. The aim of Moren’s study is to analyse the effects of climate change on tourist satisfaction and measure tourist attitudes towards conservation and climate change in the Okavango Delta. This will be done by developing indicators to measure tourists’ behavior related to services, facilities and products.

Currently Moren is working at Arizona State University, where has been able to aquire a PhD position. He finalising his  taking courses and finalising his PhD proposal.
