‘Linking biodiversity conservation and livelihoods through tourism: The role of partnership ecolodges in Laikipia District, Kenya’

Conservation enterprises in tourism have been established and promoted as an option for enhancing nature conservation and rural livelihoods. However, their contribution to livelihoods and nature conservation has not been widely researched in terms of actors, networks and institutional arrangements. Rita’s study evaluates the impact of conservation enterprises on tourism development, nature conservatio and rural lievelihoods. It aims to establish the role of actors, interactions and institutional arrangements within the conservation enterprises.

Currently Rita is preparing for her field workin the Laikipia district, Kenya.
