All 3A-STEP partners are working towards the establishment of a well functioning research network focusing on the relation between sustainable tourism development and the research fields of poverty reduction and environmental conservation. In this respect the 3A-STEP project is another milestone in the cooperation between the ten involved universities, as three research seminars are planned:

  1. seminar on reviewing capacities, assessing needs for capacity building and the joint development of a research agenda → see more details
  2. capacity building seminar concerning research design and research methodologies; and discusion of preliminary research results
  3. seminar on joint research program development, proposal writing and (re) formulating common research agenda for the upcoming 5-10 years

Furthermore 3A-STEP fosters the ongoing cooperation with international networks, not-for-profit (NGOs), private and public sectors for increased embedding of joint research programmes, including the participation in ATLAS Africa gatherings. In addition all partners are developing documentations of research outputs and best practice case studies, which are then made public via this website.
